Project Goal & Objective

Goal:
To restore degraded land, conserve biodiversity, and enhance the adaptive capacity of vulnerable households through climate-resilient and sustainable natural resource management.

Objective:

  • Strengthen the climate resilience of rural households by improving water and rangeland management.
  • Promote eco-agriculture, climate-proof livelihoods, and forest rehabilitation.
  • Enhance governance and information systems for land degradation and biodiversity.

  • State Ministries: Agriculture and Environment ministries of HSS, SWS, Galmudug, and Jubaland.
  • NGOs and CBOs: Supporting community-led initiatives.
  • Private Sector: Including seed companies and microfinance institutions.

Institutional Implementation & Coordination

  • Technical Executing Entity: SADAR Institute (Performance and result-based).
  • Project Management Unit (PMU): Managed by SADAR Institute.
  • Programme Steering Committee (PSC): Representatives from Federal MoAI and MoECC.
    • Task forces created at Federal and State levels in collaboration with IFAD and SADAR.
  • Supervision & Oversight: IFAD ensures financial monitoring, reporting, and guidance
